Itinerary 7 N / 8 D – In Ladakh, Top of the world

Day 01: Leh Acclimatization

Experience a wonderful flight over the Himalaya .On arrival, you will be receive by our representative and transfer to hotel. After welcome tea and coffee, rest for whole day & and let your body take complete acclimatization. Overnight Stay at hotel.

Day 02: Hall Of Fame / Magnetic Hill / Gurudwara/ Sangam Point + Visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace in Evening

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we take you for a tour of Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Kali Temple and Sangam. At Sangam you can enjoy rafting on Zangskar River.

Hall of Fame is a must visit for every patriotic Indian. It has been built by Indian army in memory of soldiers who lost their lives in Kargil war. Return to Leh in the afternoon.

GurdwaraPatthar Sahib located at a distance of 40 kms from Leh, wasconstructed in 1571, in memory of Guru Nanak to commemorate his visit to this region.

The Sangam is the place called Nimu where the Zanskarriver and Indus rivers merge. In the evening come back to Leh. Overnight Hotel.

Magnetic Hill is the place where you will see your car, with its engine turned off, move upwards on a steep slope. It almost sounds unbelievable.

Day 03: Leh /Nubra Valley via Khardungla. 125km.

After an early breakfast, drive to beautiful Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft) with the zig zag trail continues and drive till Hunder village. On arrival check in Nature's nest North camp. Afternoon enjoy the beauty of sand dune and double hump camel. Overnight at Camp or similar.

Day 4 : Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (170 Kms / 7 Hrs)

Post breakfast we drive towards Pangong Tso via Agham & Shyok Valley. Some of the road patches in areas are extremely tough (towards Nubra side) in terms of road conditions but no doubt the journey is very scenic! Later after crossing this adventurous part we drive further towards Durbuk & Tangtse for Pangong you pass through few small villages of Changthang and finally you can have a sudden view of the Pangong Lake situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Kms wide and over 133 Kms long with half of it’s running the other side of the "Indo China Border". One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. After the success of 3 Idiots, this beautiful natural location has attracted more tourists from all over the world. Upon arrival we check in at our Camp near Pangong Lake. Dinner & Overnight at the Camp.

Day 05: Pangong Lake - Hanle (175 Kms / 6-7 Hrs)

After an early breakfast we check out from our Camp or Hotel and drive to Hanle, by crossing Chushul Village, Tsaga La (15,200 Ft) enjoy the drive upto Hanle, is home to the Indian Astronomical Observatory. The location of the village and the observatory are highly sensitive due to the close proximity of the Tibetan / Chinese border, India set up the Himalayan Chandra Telescope, a 2m gamma ray telescope. Once complete the Major Atmospheric Cerenkov Experiment Telescope gamma ray telescope under construction they will be the world's largest telescope at the highest altitude and the second largest gamma ray telescope in the world. As per history, it is believed that King Singge Namgyal died here at Hanle while on his return from an expedition Mongols. Overnight stay at Hanle.

Day 06: Hanle to Tsomoriri (130 Kms / 4-5 Hrs)

Post breakfast check out and drive to Tsomoriri Lake enroute cross Nurpa Pass (16,100 Ft) later cross Mahe Bridge, on the way to the Tsomoriri Lake located at 14,000 ft. near a small village of Korzok. Recently opened to foreigners due to the proximity of the Chinese boarder, the Changthang is a land of wilderness and magnificent landscapes, Tsomoriri Lake is also the breeding ground for numerous species of birds, like the bar headed goose, crested grebe, the Brahmini duck (ruddy sheldrake) and the brown-headed gull. The Tsomoriri Lake is 8 kms wide and 28 kms long. Upon arrival we check in at our camp for overnight.. Spend your evening on lake by leisure walk on the banks of lake. Overnight Stay at Camp or Hotel in Korzok.

Day 07: Tsomoriri - Tsokar – Tanglangla – Leh (240 Kms / 8 Hrs)

After an early breakfast we check out from our camp and visit Korzok village with its houses and its Gompa appearing like a mirage. The few barley fields at Korzok must be among the highest cultivation in the world. Later we drive to Tsokar, The nomadic people Changpas are most outstanding feature of this area. They can be seen moving from one place to other grazing herds of goats, sheep and yaks. Changpas pass their Days with their animals and move with their flocks, their only wealth from pasture to pasture according to changing season. Their flocks, their yaks, and goat's hair furnish the raw material of which they make their ropes, their clothes and shoes. All Day long men and women are busy milking, churning the milk into butter, making ropes, weaving mats and other fabrics. These people have been completely beyond the pale of all civilizing influences. Even towards the fag end of the twenty first century, they belong to a primitive pre-historic age, The Drive is scenic and Tsokar Lake is one of the best. And after spending some time we proceed further to Leh. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel in Leh.

Day 08: Departure: Leh

After an early breakfast, depart to airport for onward destination ….fly with sweet memories of Ladakh......

  • In keeping with our heightened security procedures, we requested all guest to carry a Government Approved photo-identity with address proof to present at Check In and for foreign nationals required to present Passport and valid visa. India national can present any one of the following: Passport, Driving license, Voter Id card, Aadhar Card or Bank Pass Book with Photograph.
  • To avoid high altitude sickness Diamox tablet can be taken prior coming to Leh but only after consulting with your doctor.
  • Once you land in Leh Kindly wear jacket to avoid high altitude sickness.
  • Only Airtel , Jio and BSNL post-paid connectivity will work in Leh.

Do’s , While Travel To Ladakh

If you are planning to visit Ladakh collect necessary information about weather conditions and road route. After Arrival to Ladakh take proper rest for atleast 36 hours. Ladakh is a high-altitude place; the level of oxygen will be very low. So, it is advisable to move slowly and breathe deeper to get used to lower level of oxygen. Take water purification tablets or boiled water or bottled water. Always carry drinking water and dry eatables. In initial days of reaching Ladakh, avoid smoking and taking alcohol. Carry First-aid box with all necessary medicines. In summer (May – September), carry Cotton wear, light woolens, strong walking shoes, rain proofs and in winters (October – April), carry heavy woolens, thermal wear, feather jackets, strong walking shoes. Before leaving for Ladakh, it is better to take extra batteries and charge them fully for digital products like camera, mobile phones, etc because there is electricity problem in Ladakh. Ladakhi people are very friendly and welcoming. They love to interact. So, interact with them and it will also help in changing your point of view. If you are planning to trip Ladakh on your bike, please do not go alone on bikes at least make a group of two or more.

Don’ts , While Travel To Ladakh

Do not take photographs of people or inside any religious place without taking permission of the monk or person-in-charge. Do not carry or use plastic bags as plastic is officially banned in Ladakh. Do not wear short clothes like skirts/sleeveless blouses tops while on roads, especially in Buddhist Gompa. Do not try to influence Ladakhi People with your western outlook. Do not disturb wild life. The land is abundant with gorgeous flora and fauna. Do not harm or disturb them as you trek across the geographical and cultural landscape.
